Racing out of the S8 awning has significant benefits over trying to mechanic the kart and driver yourself, particularly as a novice. Karting can be expensive and so it is vital to maximise the time spent out on track. If, for example, in the first heat an on track collision caused damage to the rear axle, even if you had the spare part do you have the tools (you would need to purchase your own generator and air compressor) and the time to repair the kart in preparation for the next race? Being part of S8 would mean having access to the spare part(s) required and the assistance of numerous experienced team members (the services of a dedicated mechanic are available - please see below) who can ensure you get back out on track as soon as possible. Racing alone could mean having to finish your day's racing early (forfeiting the money spent on race entry fees, travel and accommodation).
Joining us in the S8 awning also offers the benefit of sharing set-up knowledge and access to more experienced drivers for advice on improving driving technique e.g. novices and younger drivers will typically take part in a 'track walk' with a senior driver who will explain the circuit in detail and answer any questions.
Finally, although karting is a highly competitive sport and can place significant pressure on those competing, the awning has a friendly atmosphere with the team working together to make the experience as enjoyable as possible.
